The Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies welcomes new Communications Co-ordinator

We are pleased to welcome Aida de Heras to the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies (CSCT) team as the new Communications Co-ordinator. Aida’s functions will include managing the outward-facing communication channels and public presence of the CSCT, liaising with the various stakeholders engaged with the Centre, and supporting students in the various aspects involved in communicating their research.

Before joining the CSCT, Aida worked in STEM communications and public relations to promote the research outputs of several learned societies and publicise their scientific events. She also coordinated and delivered public engagement events, and was briefly involved in the organisation of international scientific conferences. Aida has an MSc in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh.

Alongside her career in science communication, Aida also pursued her interests in systems design and innovation by joining the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, where she had the opportunity to apply game design principles to create innovative solutions, and use them to tackle public health issues.

Professor Matthew Davidson, Director of the CSCT, said: “We are delighted to welcome Aida to the CSCT. I’m sure all staff and students in the Centre will feed off her enthusiasm and benefit from the new perspectives she brings, to further develop the vital communication and engagement activities that support our research and training.”
