Alec Coles
Alec graduated from Keele University in 2021 with a first-class Master’s Degree in Chemistry with an International Year. His undergraduate career included a year studying at Tokyo Metropolitan University, and a final year research project developing fluorescent metal-organic framework (MOF) materials for chemical sensing applications. His Master’s research project under Dr Chris Hawes investigated the role of hydrogen-bonding on the structure and stability of MOFs.
Outside of academia, Alec is an avid tennis player, book reader and enjoyer of long walks in nature.
