Edmund Dadge
PhD Project Title
Synthesis of Lewis Acidic Catalysts for Sustainable Chemical Transformations
Edmund graduated from the University of Bath in 2024 with a first-class Master’s in Chemistry. As part of his degree, he completed a research project under the supervision of Dr Ruth Webster on the impact of ligand flexibility in iron salen catalysts. For his Master’s research project, supervised by Professor Antoine Buchard, he focused on the synthesis, and characterisation, of novel monomer units derived from sugars. Aside from studying, he completed a year-long industrial placement at TE Connectivity using polymeric materials to prevent wildlife-induced electrical outages.
In his spare time, Edmund enjoys finding new hiking routes around Bath, attempting to re-learn badminton, and drinking lots of tea. On occasion, he judges intervarsity debating competitions.
