Hugh graduated from the University of Leeds in 2020 with a BSc in Chemistry. During his final year project, he developed carbon nanoreactor supported metal oxide nanoparticle catalysts for the degradation of synthetic organic dye pollutants. Before joining the CSCT, Hugh spent 6 months as an R&D Chemist at Notpla, a start-up packaging company designing and formulating seaweed-based bioplastic solutions to replace plastic packaging.
Outside of his research, Hugh enjoys film photography, football and good quality coffee.
