PhD Project Title: Sugar-based polymers for renewable, degradable and efficient battery electrolytes

James graduated from the University of Bath with a Master’s degree in Chemistry in 2020. As part of his degree, James completed a year-long industrial placement at Dutch water treatment technology provider PWNT, working as part of the research and development team. For his final year Master’s project, he worked as part of the Buchard group investigating sugar-based polymers for application as renewable battery electrolytes. Outside of work, James enjoys a variety of sports including football and lacrosse, as well as long-distance running and cooking.
