Martyn Bennett

Martyn Bennett has spent 30 years in Elastomer R & D, and was also the founder of the Sustainable Materials Group through ARTIS and Avon Rubber Plc, looking mainly at sustainable fillers but also other technologies for the rubber industry. He is a joint holder of a patent for recovering silica from end-of-life tyres and, through Avon Rubber Plc, he set up a sponsored PhD with the CSCT.

Currently running his own consultancy business, Martyn joins the CSCT as visiting industrial fellow to bring an industry perspective to the work of the Centre and to help students understand how sustainability and elastomer/ polymer chemistry are applied to engineering challenges.
