Rob completed his MChem in Chemistry at the University of York in 2012. For his masters project he went on the Erasmus program to the University of Münster, Germany to research polymer electrolytes for lithium ion batteries. After graduating, he then entered industry for over 3 years working as a fuel cell scientist at an alkaline fuel cell start-up company before deciding to return to academia. In his spare time, he enjoys doing martial arts, learning Cantonese, playing board games and going for the occasional cycle.
