RSC – Progressive plastics: a live-streamed panel discussion

Plastics are here to stay. How can the chemical sciences make them fully sustainable?

What does the future hold for plastics in a changing world? Join us online for a panel discussion chaired by BBC environment reporter Laura Foster.

The discussion will feature expert panellists from around the world – and you can be a part of it.

Themes that we will cover include:

  • Degradation of plastics – how do we break down plastic waste in a way that isn’t harmful?
  • Recyclability of plastics – how can we develop new value from used plastics?
  • New plastics – designing and generating sustainable plastics
  • Measuring the impact of plastics – on our health and the environment

The panel will discuss each topic in detail and the key challenges and opportunities identified. This discussion will be streamed live, on Facebook, YouTube and on the RSC website.

You can engage with the panel directly, from the comfort of your home or workplace, by submitting questions live, or in advance.
