Theme Papers

Select one of the scientific papers provided in your selected them and prepare a presentation of no more than 5 minutes. The time limit will be enforced.

Your presentation should offer a concise, high-level assessment covering:

  • the problem and why it matters
  • the paper’s central advance
  • its principal strengths and limitations
  • its sustainability benefits and trade-offs
  • your overall judgement of its significance and potential

You may reuse schemes or figures from the paper; the panel is interested in your interpretation, not slide design. You may structure the slides as you judge appropriate and need not cover every technical detail. However, detailed scientific questioning will follow, so you should understand the methods, evidence, mechanistic interpretation and conclusions. Distinguish between what the paper demonstrates, what the authors infer and what remains uncertain.
